House probes relocation of Shell head office from Warri to Lagos

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has demanded the cancellation of last Saturday’s National Assembly elections in Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State.

In the election, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) but APC says the election was marred with irregularities.

A statement on Friday by the head of Media and Publicity Committee of APC Campaign Council in the state, Balarabe Shehu Illelah called for a fresh election in the constituency.

The party alleged that Dogara’a PDP harassed and intimidated its agents while they were perpetrating the evil acts.

“The APC hereby declare it’s rejection of the results for Bogoro local government because of the following reasons which includes the harassment and intimidation of voters that scared them away from performing their civil duties,” it stated.

“There were manipulations and irregularities that characterized the conduct of the exercise which affected and marred the outcome of the results as well as the deliberate refusal to use electronic card readers”, the statement added.
