APC wins Katsina Assembly by-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Ibrahim Danjuma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Saturday’s by-election into the Sabuwa State Constituency, Katsina State House of Assembly.

Danjuma polled 11,745 votes to defeat his closest rival, Ibrahim Shafiu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 6,160 votes.

The INEC Returning Officer in the area, Dr. Adamu Bello who announced the results, said Danjuma won the election after polling the highest number of votes in the poll.

The by-election was conducted to fill the void created by the death of a member of the Assembly, Mustapha Abdullahi.
