APC’s Mukhtar Idris wins Zamfara governorship election
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Zamfara, Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu, has been declared winner of Saturday’s polls.
Results revealed by INEC showed that Shehu polled 534,541 votes to defeat his closest challenger Bello Muhammad Mutawalle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who garnered 189,452 votes.

Recall that the acronym of the APC had been omitted on the results sheet for Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections in Zamfara.
In a statement signed by the INEC’s national secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, the electoral umpire expressed regrets over the omission.
