Supreme Court adjourns Dasuki's case to Jan 25

The Department of State Services (DSS) has been ordered to produce the detained former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The Court of Appeal gave the order in Abuja on Friday. It said the DSS should produce Dasuki in court to enable him testify in defence of a former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Olisa Metuh.

The court further upheld Metuh’s appeal and nullified the ruling delivered by Justice Okon Abang on February 23, 2017, when he refused to grant Metuh’s application for a subpoena to be issued and served on Dasuki.

The decision of the court came sequel to a unanimous judgement delivered by a three-man panel of the Court of Appeal.

Reading the judgement of the appallate court, Justice Peter Ige, asked Justice Abang to choose a date when the DSS must make Dasuki available in the court and other subsequent dates.

It also ordered Abang, of the Federal High Court, Abuja who is presiding over Metuh’s case to without further delay sign the subpoena filed by Metuh.
