After appointment by Buhari, ex-Senate President Nnamani dumps PDP for APC

A former Senate President and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ken Nnamani, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He dumped PDP, a party under which he became prominent in politics on Sunday at his home town in Amechi-Uwani, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State.

He formalized his defection when he registered as a member of the APC in the party’s ongoing re-registration exercise in Enugu state. The party had said it was embarking on a new membership drive owing to the crash of its database in the zone which led to the disappearance of members’ records.

The former Senate president was reported to have said that impunity and undemocratic practices had killed PDP, adding that the party was now a dead party.

Members of the APC said to have witnessed his registration and reception of the ‎membership card included the vice chairman, South-East, Chief Emma Eneukwu, chairman of Enugu State chapter of the party, Dr. Ben Nwoye, Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, among others.

Meanwhile, critics have fingered his recent appointment as the head of the Electoral Reform Committee, set up by President Muhammadu Buhari, as what may have warranted his defection to the ruling APC.

Alas! Nnamani is one of the strong founder of Pdp, he is the least i expect to join Apc, though i know he has been nursing this plan for long after he declared that ,he wants to quit active politics, I knew it was a way of saying I quit pdp. Pdp is falling and the centre can not hold again.

He has achieved already. He is the chairman of electoral reform committee. Is that not an achievement? And there are many other achievements awaiting him.

This is actually unbelievable! Ken Nnamani was still speaking as a strong member of PDP shortly after he got appointed by Buhari. Wow… So he’s a political prostitute too? I never saw this coming. sic

Big disgrace to nnamani because he has failed to the party that gave him hope when it was lost.

Who else is doubting APC’s competence in manipulating politicians to joining their party? They are working towards winning 2019 election by all means. I’m sure there are more politicians who will join.

I won’t be surprise if such a thing happen. Because that is what APC want. They believe destroying this country is the only thing that gives them joy.

I may be wrong, but I read sometime last year, just before his appointment as Chairman of the Electoral reforms committee, that Nnamani had retired from active politics.

My glasses were worn correctly on the said day I read that. What the heck brought Nanamani back to politics? Are we deceiving ourselves all over again!!

You did not read it well or probably you don’t understand what he meant . Ken Nnamani only said he quitted active politics and not that he quit politics, so he is going to be passive and not active in apc, in short, he didnot join Apc to contest election but to get appointment which is still not active politics
