Aregbesola raises the alarm over fraudsters’ use of his name to open social media accounts

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has cried out over fraudsters’ use of his name to open different social media accounts to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

The former Osun State governor stated this in a statement he personally signed and posted on his Twitter handle – @raufaregbesola.
He wrote: “It has come to my attention that some unscrupulous elements are opening different Social Media accounts in my name to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“Disregard all messages not emanating from my official social media accounts which are: 1. http://facebook.com/governorraufaregbesola; (2) https://twitter.com/raufaregbesola; (3) http://instagram.com/raufaregbesola

“Instagram and Twitter handles have been verified.
“We are working with Facebook to verify this Facebook page. (Verified social media handles come with blue tick by the side of the name).”

He warned those perpetrating the alleged criminal act to “kindly note that anyone who deals with accounts outside this official accounts does so at his or her own risk.”
