Armed bandits attack Kaduna community in daylight, kill, set houses ablaze

BAYELSA: Police vow to arrest killers of Sergeant

Kakangi village, South-West of Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State was on Saturday thrown into mourning after armed bandits attacked the town in broad daylight, killed residents and burnt houses.

The daredevil bandits, who stormed Kakangi motorcycles at about 5pm, shot intermittently at the police station. Done shooting the police station, the bandits were said to have taken their attacks from one house to another.

Reports from the state claimed that many people died following the attacks including those who were attending a mass wedding.

It was learnt that several communities, especially those along Birnin-Gwari -Funtua road, had since abandoned their homes and taken refuge in Birnin-Gwari and other neighbouring towns.

At a general hospital in Birnin-Gwari, six people with various degrees of injuries from gunshot were said to be in critical condition while a policeman has since been confirmed dead.

Also, several shops, and the village market were reportedly burnt to ashes and some people are said to be still missing or abducted.
