Army court-martials 14 soldiers over kidnapping, murder

In efforts to instil indiscipline among its men as the fight against insecurity is ongoing, the Nigerian Army on Saturday court-martialed 14 soldiers.

The soldiers who consist of three officers and eleven men were court-martialed by 6 Division Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Rivers State for kidnapping, murder, attempted murder and other offences.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Maj.-Gen. Jamil Sarham, who is also the Land Component Commander of Operation Delta Safe, while inaugurating the General Court Martial, declared that the army would not condone indiscipline.

President of the court, Brig.-Gen. Bassey Etuk, assured he and six other members of the panel would do justice and they would not betray the confidence reposed in them.
