In its efforts to curtail the ever growing security threats in the country the Nigerian Government has procured arms and ammunitions from Slovakia.

A statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, said already a cargo airplane laden with assortment of arms and ammunitions from Slovakia landed on Monday at Nnamdi International Airport, Abuja.

He said more are still being expected and would be landing in the country very soon.

“Slovakia bound cargo just landed at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja loaded with various types of arms and ammunition.

“The weapons were ordered by the Federal Government to boost the war against terrorism and other criminal activities in Nigeria. More cargoes are expected soon”, the statement read.

Nigeria is currently battling with fight against terrorist Boko Haram, killer herdsmen, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal activities.

The deployments of soldiers to most of the troubled states where these criminals maim and threaten security of Nigerians appear not to be yielding expected results.
