Army to review troops welfare packages, Buratai says in Salah message

The Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, has promised that the Nigerian Army will re-evaluate the welfare packages of troops to meet best practices and standards.

The army chief, however, called on the troops to redouble their efforts as they tackle the security challenges facing the country.

Buratai said these in his Sallah message to troops on Monday.

“I want to urge you not to rest on your laurels because the existing and even emerging security threats are potent and we must continue to be ahead of them. We must redouble our efforts to completely eliminate all acts of insurgency, kidnapping, banditry, secessionism and other forms of security threats from every inch of our beloved country.

“We will continue to re-evaluate the welfare packages of the Nigerian Army to ensure they meet best practices and standards”, he said.
