English Premier League side, Arsenal came from behind to beat Bundesliga club, Cologne in their Europa League opener at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

The match was delayed for an hour following crowd trouble, as thousands of visiting supporters arrived at the ground without tickets.

Just 9 minutes after the match finally began, Cologne took the lead in spectacular fashion as Jhon Cordoba lobbed David Ospina from 40 yards to get their hosts trailing at halftime.

But substitute Sead Kolasinac scored an equaliser after the break with a thumping volley before Alexis Sanchez struck the second, and Hector Bellerin added the third to complete the comeback.

The win takes the Gunners top of their group table, as Group H’s other game, Red Star Belgrade against BATE Borisov ended 1-1.

“We had a slow start and there was an accidental goal,” manager Arsene Wenger said after the game.

“After that it was important not to concede and panic and put more pace into our game. From then, we controlled the game and won convincingly in the end.”

Arsenal will play away to BATE Borisov in their next Europa League game.
