There are indications that there might be crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC). This is as elected members of the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) who are not members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party demanded an urgent meeting with the NWC to address urgent matters affecting the party.
In a letter dated May 29 by leaders of the group, Nasiru Danu and Omolaoye Akintola, it was stated that the meeting should be called immediately before issues affecting the party gets out of hands.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum was also copied in the said letter.
The letter reads: “We members of APC, NON-NWC (NEC) Forum wish to place It on record through this letter the critical and fundamental need to demand for an urgent meeting between this body and NWC principally to address critical Issues affecting our great Party before such issues get out of hands much could be inimical to the general welfare of the Party.
“We would have called for this kind of meeting earlier but we considered the concluded 2019 general elections as determinant of our Party’s survival which had come and gone with successes and losses.
“This body rose from her today‘s (29/05/2019) emergency meeting shortly after the Presidential inauguration ceremony held at the Eagle Square, Abuja and concluded the following request be made.
“We hereby request for a meeting to be fixed from your end as soon as possible in order to meet with the urgency it demands.”
