There are fears many citizens of Jakana in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, may have been killed following a deadly attack by the terrorist group, Boko Haram group.

The attack which happened at about 6:30pm along Maiduguri road on Tuesday, is said to have left the people of the area in disarray.

The insurgents were said to have stormed the area in six military utility vehicles mounted with anti-aircraft gun, and shot sporadically at everything in sight.

It was further learnt that the terrorist group carted away foodstuffs and other properties that could serve their needs.

The attack it was further gathered, happened two days after troops and policemen withdrew from the area.

There was therefore no military or police presence in the village as at the time the terrorists struck, Ripples Nigeria gathered.

According to an eye witness report, the villagers when they saw the insurgents, were happy thinking that the troops had returned, as the terrorists were said to have everything similar with soldiers.

The people only knew they were in danger when they began to hear shouts of ‘Allah Alkar’, at which point they took to their heels amid sporadic shootings by the terrorists.

It was yet to be confirmed the number of people that lost their lives as a result of the attack.
