ASUU: Akande goofed on strike, graduate employment

Published

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ibadan branch, yesterday lashed out at former National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande for accusing striking lecturers of producing vagabonds and unemployable graduates.

Its Chairman, Dr. Deji Omole while speaking with New Telegraph in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, described APC as “a party of vagabonds and Chief Bisi Akande as grandfather of half-baked government,” noting that it was unfortunate that a supposed leader of Akande’s status would render a statement with warped logic.

Akande had condemned the strike embarked upon by ASUU in Oke Ila Orangun where he had gone to commission one- storey classroom donated to Abolarin College.

He was reported to have said the union was destroying the country with demands that were not genuine.
