ATIKU: Buhari used my money, influence to win, then sidelined me

Atiku promises to stop political harlotry

Former Vice President and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Atiku Abubakar, has lamented the treatment President Muhammadu Buhari’s government has meted out to him since assuming power.

Atiku, who was among the presidential aspirants that contested the APC presidential ticket along with Buhari in 2015 bemoaned that despite all the efforts he made to ensure the party emerged victorious that he has been sidelined.

The former vice president stated this on Wednesday when he spoke in an interview on the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA).

In the interview he granted in Yola, the Adamawa State capital where he celebrated the Eid-el- Kabir festival, he said, “Honestly speaking, I’m still a member of the APC; I was part of all the processes, including campaigns until success was achieved.

“But sadly, soon after the formation of government; I was side-lined, I have no any relationship with the government, I’ve not been contacted even once to comment on anything and in turn, I maintained my distance. They used our money and influence to get to where they are but three years down the lane, this is where we are.”

Atiku, meanwhile lauded President Buhari on his achievements in the fight against Boko Haram, but warned that it was not yet time to celebrate and jubilate.

According to him, his party, the APC still has a lot to do and had already “failed in many fronts”.

He said, “Yes, there were successes but not comprehensive success because the Boko Haram miscreants are still very active, killing our people and many local government councils in Borno and Yobe are under their firm grip. People cannot dare go back to their dwellings

“This thing baffles me; I never imagined that Nigeria will fight a protracted battle with Boko Haram for five years. At a time, we fought the Biafra war, which was more complicated because of the terrain in the South but the Biafran soldiers were roundly subdued in 30 months. But here we are, fighting an endless battle with the Boko Haram and there’s no end in sight”.

Speaking on the present administration’s fight against corruption, he said that little has been achieved and wondered “how many people were arrested, prosecuted and jailed? How much was recovered from the looters?”

Referring to the administration under which he served as vice president to Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 to 2007, he said, “When we came on board in 1999, I remember we recovered between $4.5 and $4.7 billion from those that looted under (Late Sani) Abacha.”

Buhari’s Women Affairs’ Minister, Mrs. Alhassan, had also on the same day, told the BBC Hausa Service, how she would support Atiku, who she referred to as her godfather in the 2019 presidential elections even if Mr. Buhari seeks re-election.

Atiku statement is coming as the opposition Peoples Democratic Party has vowed not to rest until he returns to to the party.

Clearly, Atiku is an idiotic fellow, APC should suspend him for this unpalatable comments he gave the media. We all know Atiku is trying all he can to become the next president of Nigeri but he has to act reasonably ahead of 2019, we don’t want this type of comment just to have Nigerians favour him.

Atiku should stop this attitude of seeking attention, he’s a grownup man with large political experience. He helped Buhari win in 2015, so? What’s the big deal if you helped someone and the person forgets you? Just leave him and move on with your life. Atiku should stop requesting for credit, nobody in APC and outside APC will credit him for anything

I hate to read or hear anything about Atiku! He’s one of the founding fathers of corruption in Nigeria, a man who lacks integrity and still want people to regard him as important citizen of Nigeria. The presidential seat that you’re striving to get to, you’ll never get there.

Atiku by now should have grown up. He is even stupid for saying his money, thief, you used stolen money to aid buhari’s win in 2015 and not your money. Nature has a way of gulping out what you stole from it

The Atiku I know is warming up to go back to the pdp, he is a political adulterer. He is trying to justify his cross carpeting in advance

Well I respect Atiku as a person as well but he doesn’t need to castigate baba buhari if he is a loyal party man

#Nigeria is already in Post AtikuYears#

PMB’s reappearance on the political scene after he had been literally ruled out by the traditional political warlords is unsettling notwithstanding whether or not he’s available for 2019!!!
Atiku who has remained non committal to the APC since the time he lost the party’s ticket to PMB, has now begun to act true to type:making statements to curry the favour of the voting public from Ill digested and self serving views on restructuring, to Islam and terrorism etc

He’s also trying to play the victim – that PMB and the party have abandoned him, not carrying him along in policy matters :ok what are his views on anti corruption or growing a diversified economy ? What are his thoughts on knowledge economy etc.
Ambition is a legitimate endeavor but Atiku seems not interested in serious governance or in a new Nigeria. His class of supporters including mama Taraba tried all they could during the APC presidential primaries. Yet they lost.
Atiku plays seasonal politics, in perpetual search for a presidential ticket. In the past 8 years, he has moved from the PDP to AC back to PDP and later to APC. I think he is on his way back to PDP again for his last lap.

Anyhow, I think Nigeria is in post Atiku years.
The handwriting is clearly and boldly written on the wall.
