Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday condemned President Bola Tinubu’s management of the fuel subsidy crisis.

Atiku, in a tweet on X linked Nigeria’s current economic difficulties to what he characterized as the “haphazard and disingenuous approach” of the Tinubu administration regarding fuel subsidies. He voiced concerns over the rising inflation rate, which he believes is severely affecting the lives of Nigerians.

“The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country,” Atiku stated.

He added, “As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians. It is even more worrying that T-Pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country.”

The nickname ‘TPain’ emerged as a play on Tinubu’s name and the American rapper T-Pain, reflecting public frustration over the rising cost of living.
