Atiku feels incidences during presidential poll have affected turn out in guber election

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has blamed supposed low turn-out of voters in this Saturday governorship and state assembly elections to alleged rigging during the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections.

He said, “There is low voter turnout and I believe it’s because of the last election which was marred by a lot of irregularities.”

Atiku made this claim after he voted at the Ajiya polling unit 02, Gwadabawa ward of Yola North Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa State.

The PDP candidate who was defeated by incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential election, condemned the use of military in the elections.

Though he described it as unconstitutional, he however urged the electorate to be law-abiding and shun violence.

On his loss, he said he was not going back in his decision to challenge the result of the election in court.

Buhari had earlier on Thursday said he expected Atiku to challenge the outcome of the presidential election in court.
