ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION: To dispel police submission, Ekweremadu threatens to release video of attack

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has said he would release video footage of the attempted assassination on him and his family.

There were reports of an attempt on his life by armed men at his resident in the early hours of Tuesday.

The police however dismissed the allegation by Ekweremadu, rather describing it as “a case of burglary.”

Speaking on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, Ekweremadu threatened to release the video footage showing he was attacked to the public which he claimed the police were yet to watch and study.

He expressed disappointment in the police for not interrogating the security operatives attached to him and arresting the fleeing suspects.

Meanwhile, the senate has condemned the Nigeria police for dismissing the alleged assassination attempt on the Deputy Senate President of the senate, as burglary.

Members of the senate took turns to criticize the police as making conclusions on the invasion of Ekweremadu’s home by armed men without proper investigation.

The lawmakers mandated the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the crime.
