Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is counting on Alex Iwobi to help the Super Eagles of Nigeria come out on top when they kick off their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign against Croatia on Saturday.

Aubameyang, teammates with Iwobi at Arsenal, had already declared his support for the Super Eagles at the World Cup in a tweet earlier this month.

“I support Nigeria for World Cup because of my friend @alexiwobi but to tell the truth also because of your @nikefootball kit ???need one !!!!” the former CAF player of the year tweeted few days after Nigeria’s jersey broke the internet.

But on Friday night, Aubameyang challenged Iwobi to prove him right for supporting the team by putting up an impressive performance against Croatia.

As a caption for a photo of him wearing an all green and white attire, the forward tweeted, “@alexiwobi now show me that I’m right ?????.”

The Eagles will be up against the Croats at the Kaliningrad Stadium, Kaliningrad in Russia by 8:00p.m (Nigerian time).

The other game of Group D between Argentina and Iceland will hold by 2:00p.m.
