Aubameyang robbed of goal against Spurs after offside call

Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, was denied a clear goal during the Champions League encounter between his side Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

Aubameyang, who latched onto a brilliant cross from Mahmoud Dahoud before his clean finish, could have brought his side back into the game on 13 minutes as they were trailing 2-1 to their hosts at the time.

But the former African Player of the Year was ruled offside as the English side went on to add another goal to claim a 3-1 victory.

Son Heung-min’s 4th-minute opener was cancelled by Andriy Yarmolenko’s equaliser for Dortmund in the 11th minute, before Harry Kane restored the lead for Spurs four minutes after.

The English striker then netted his second for the night on the hour mark to hand the hosts their first win in Wembley in a long while.

The other group game played at Bernabeu, Spanish champions, Real Madrid beat Apoel Nicosia 3-0 thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo brace alongside a Sergio Ramos goal.

Dortmund are currently third in the group.
