AWCON 2016: Ghana hold Nigeria to 1-1 draw

Defending champions Super Falcons of Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by Ghana in their second group game at the ongoing Women Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon on Wednesday.

Asisat Oshoala scored the opener in the 19th minute at the Stade Omnisports Limbe, but the Falcons were rather too anxious in front of goal and missed several chances throughout the match.

Ghana drew level two minutes before half-time when Ugo Njoku committed a foul in the box and Elizabeth Addo converted the penalty kick.

The Falcons however remain top of Group B on goals difference from the Black Queens, and will play Kenya on November 27, while the Black Queens will slug it out with Mali.
