Nigeria women’s football team, the Super Falcons, will kick off their 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) campaign against South Africa on November 18.

The Falcons, who won the last edition of the competition in Cameroon, were drawn in Group B alongside South Africa, Zambia and Kenya in the draw that was held in Cape Coast, Ghana on Sunday.

The biennial competition will be hosted in two cities in Ghana and will kick off on November 17 and will end on December 1st.

“Our other three opponents in the group [B] are good. We have three weeks to our first game against South Africa and will focus on preparing well for the matches to ensure we get to the semi-final,” Nigeria coach Thomas Dennerby said after the draw.

The tournament also serves as the qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup billed to hold in France in June.

The best three teams – the winners, the first and second runners up – will represent the continent at the mundial.
