Badoo cult group extends reign of terror to Ogun State

The dreaded Badoo cult group seem to have reportedly extended their reign of terror to Ogijo and Ipetoro areas of Ogun State.

Recent reports say one of their victims was a six-year-old boy, whose head was reportedly smashed with a grinding stone and another incident was a case of an attack on a family of five.

This is coming after a suspected member of the cult group was arrested over the weekend at Itasoni area of Ogijo, Shagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State by a vigilante group.

According to Chiogor, a resident of Ogijor, the arrested suspect owned up to being a member of the Badoo cult group.

“We took him to the Police station, where he confessed that they had 10 new hideouts along the Ogijo axis,” Chiogor said.

Continuing, he added that; ‘‘He also confessed that they were behind the massacre of a family of five at Eskoba, another community in Ogijo.”

Chiogor further revealed that for the past three weeks Ogijor has been witnessing a series of ritual killings with victims tongues, breasts and other parts of the body cut off during attacks.

The situation has reportedly forced residents who are non-indigenes to relocate especially with the fact that the non-indigenes have been targets of attacks by the ritual killers.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command has issued a statement warning any stranger venturing into Ikorodu to arm himself or herself with a valid form of identification in order not to encounter the same fate that befell Chinedu Paul who was burnt alive after been mistaken for a Badoo cult member.

According to the statement released by the force Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, the need to go about with a valid form of identification has also become necessary following the series of operations lined up in the area by the state police command led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations.

ATTENTION TO IKORODU RESIDENCE;

The Lagos state police command would like to inform members of the public especially residents in Ikorodu and environs, that from henceforth everybody moving around that part of the state, residents, students or workers should always have on them a valid form of identification.

This has become important and necessary because of the series of police operations lined up in the area by the Lagos state police command led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations.

The Lagos state police command is deeply concerned about the criminal activities in the area which is not only unlawful but also affecting the integrity of the state.

The planned police operations demands residents to carry on them a valid form of identification which will be verified, in order not to be restricted or face apprehension as adequate security arrangements have been put in place for the safety of every Nigerian throughout the state by the police and other security agencies.
