After prison life, Kemi Olunloyo now sober, sets journalism aside

The bail hearing for controversial investigative journalist and blogger Kemi Olunloyo was stalled Thursday following the absence of a magistrate, Alatuwo Fubara, of the Port Harcourt Magistrate’s Court.

Kemi and Port Harcourt-based publisher, Samuel Walson who were both expected to appear in court yesterday morning were both asked to stay back after it was revealed that Fubara would be absent due to illness.

The absence of the court magistrate forced the court to however fix March 30, 2017, for hearing on the bail application of the two journalists.

Kemi and Walson were both arrested for allegedly publishing materials believed to have defamed Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder of the Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt.

The daughter of the former Governor of Oyo State was arrested at her Ibadan home while Walson was nabbed in Port Harcourt by security operatives. They are both currently been held in the Port Harcourt Prison.
