Balogun absent as Brighton win FA Cup thriller at Millwall, to face Man City next

Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun was absent in a thrilling FA Cup quarter-final tie that involved his side, Brighton, and Millwall.

The Premier League side came from two goals down to level 2-2 at full time, before winning the penalty shootouts to advance.

Championship side, Millwall led with second-half goals from Alex Pearce and Aiden O’Brien.

Jurgen Locadia made it 2-1 before Solly March levelled with a stoppage-time free-kick after a mistake by the host’s keeper.

After a goalless extra time, Brighton then won the shootouts 5-4 to reach their first FA Cup semi-final since 1983.

Brighton will now face Manchester City in the last four at Wembley Stadium.

City also came from two goals down to defeat Championship side Swansea 3-2 on Saturday.

Watford, runners-up in 1984, will play four-time winners Wolves, in their first semi-final since 1998, in the other tie.

Both matches will be played on the weekend of 6-7 April.
