Baltasar Engonga, Equatorial Guinea anti-graft boss, sacked amid s3x scandal
Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Mbasogo, on Thursday, sacked Baltasar Engonga, director-general of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), over allegations of misconduct.
Engonga, son of CEMAC President Baltasar Engonga Edjoo, was terminated for “irregularities” and “inappropriate conduct.”
A recent investigation uncovered around 400 explicit videos allegedly featuring Engonga with multiple women, including relatives and wives of high-ranking officials. The videos, filmed in offices, hotels, and toilets, have gone viral.

In response, the government suspended implicated officials and plans to install surveillance cameras in government offices. Prime Minister Manuel Nsue vowed to “learn from these errors” to prevent future occurrences. First Lady Constancia Mangue lamented the scandal’s impact on women’s reputation in the country, calling it “distorting.”
President Mbasogo’s decree cited Engonga’s “inappropriate family and social conduct” as grounds for dismissal.
