Bandits attack Katsina hospital, shoot doctor, abduct three staff
Bandits on Tuesday attacked the Kankara General Hospital in Katsina and shot a medical doctor identified as Murtala Sale-Dandashire.
The spokesman for the Katsina State police command, Abubakar Aliyu, who confirmed the incident to journalists on Wednesday in Katsina, said the doctor is alive and responding to treatment in hospital.
He said: “The news making the rounds about a medical doctor shot dead at Kankara General Hospital is not true.

“He was shot but currently responding to treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
“The terrorists equally abducted three persons during the attack.”
The spokesman added that police operatives are making efforts to arrest the attackers and rescue the victims.
