Bandits kidnap five family members, two others in Kaduna community

Bandits raid Katsina village, abduct 15 women

Not less than seven persons have been kidnapped by armed bandits, after attacking a community in Barkallahu, Igabi Council of Kaduna State, including five member of the same family.

It was learnt that the bandits invaded the community at about 1:30am on Friday and shot indiscriminately as they went from house to house to pick their victims.

According to an inhabitant of the community, Abdulsalam Haruna, who spoke to newsmen, the gunmen went away with his wife and four children, two of who are students of the Federal University, Malunfashi in Katsina State.

He stated that the invaders also left with two of his neighbour’s children and attacked two other houses in the area, including that of a retired director in the Kaduna State Ministry of Education, but they did not kidnap anybody or carry anything.

“The incident happened about 1:30am when they broke my gate and came into my compound. They broke the door to my house and ordered everybody to follow them.

“They also attacked my neighbour and went away with two of his children.”

“We alerted the Police, but by the time they arrived, the bandits had escaped with the victims,” Haruna said.

As at the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command was yet to react to or confirm the incident,
