Bandits raid Katsina village, abduct 15 women

Three brothers have been killed on their farm by bandits in Zaka village, Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Their corpses which were accompanied by the victims’ mother, were brought to the palace of the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumin Kabir, on Saturday evening after the killing.

The Emir however sympathised with the grieving mother and advised that the corpses be taken to the village for burial.

The spokesman for the police in the state, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the incident said the victims were attacked on their farm close to one of the camps of the bandits.

According to him, four of the brothers were on the farm when the bandits attacked them but one of them managed to escape.

He added that one of the bandits had been arrested following his alleged involvement in the killings.

The suspect who was arrested by the Katsina state police command confessed to have killed at least seven of his victims in various attacks carried out by his gang in Zamfara and Katsina communities.

He also said he had participated in the recent attack on Batsarin-Alhaji village, Batsari LGA of Katsina State.
