Bandits wipe out whole family, two others during night attack in Plateau community

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Friday night, wiped out a family of three comprising of the father, mother and son, as well as two other people in a brazen attack at the Lighitlubang village in Bungha District of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
A resident of the community, Moses Bankat, who confirmed the incident to journalists on Sunday, said the family was attacked by the gunmen while they were asleep, in an attack that came two days after a woman was killed in her farm.
“It happened at about midnight on Friday. Some suspected Fulani terrorists entered Lighitlubang village in Bungha District of Mangu Local Government and killed a family of three, a man, his wife, and child, along with another man and his wife, all slaughtered.”

The community has been under a continuous siege by the bandits in the past one week with no fewer than seven people killed by the assailants who have so far, remained invincible.
On Monday, January 27th, a woman, Mrs. Tabitha Yusuf, was attacked and killed in her farm while collecting firewood, while several others who managed to escape the attacked did so with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile, the State Police Command spokesman, Alabo Alfred who also confirmed the incident on Sunday, said security agents had been deployed to the affected community to maintain peace and order while an investigation had begun.
