Banker tests positive for COVID-19 in Yobe

Yobe State government Thursday confirmed the index COVID-19 case in the state.

The state Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, who confirmed this at a press briefing in Damaturu, said the index case was a 29- year-old banker.

He said the patient worked with a new generation bank in the state capital.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had on Wednesday night confirmed the Yobe State COVID-19 case.

The country recorded 196 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday with Lagos, the epicenter of the country’s pandemic, accounting for 86.
