Barcelona and Spain’s Lamine Yamal has been named the winner of the 2024 Golden Boy award.

This prestigious accolade, established by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, honours the best European men’s player under 21, with journalists determining the winner through a points-based voting system.

At just 17 years old, Yamal became a key player for Barcelona last season and played a significant role in Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph.

He contributed one goal and four assists during the tournament, earning him the title of Young Player of the Tournament.

In October, Yamal also received the Kopa Trophy, the youth equivalent of the Ballon d’Or.

This season, he has continued to impress, recording six goals and eight assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.

The previous Golden Boy winner, in 2023, was Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham.
