Basketmouth slams CBN over restriction of money transfer

Stand-up comedian Basketmouth has slammed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for restricting hundreds of global remittance companies from operating in the country limiting customers to only three establishments (Western Union, MoneyGram and Ria) to continue their operations in Nigeria.

Basketmouth criticised the decision by the CBN saying the decision by the apex bank is the reason behind the recent hike in foreign exchange rates.
The comedian took to Instagram to express his disgust when he posted his thoughts on the issue on the short video and picture sharing social media platform.
“This senseless money transfer deal is what has caused the recent hike in FX rates. I hear foreign exchange will be seven hundred Naira, to the Pound Sterling, and five hundred Naira to the U.S Dollar in the next couple of days.
“I wonder which planet CBN is on, when you give a whole country’s source of foreign currency to just three companies and think it is sensible.”
