Bauchi confirms fresh case of COVID-19
Bauchi State government Thursday announced one fresh case of COVID-19.
The state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aliyu Maigoro, who disclosed this to journalists, said the patient is a close friend of Governor Bala Mohammed.
Governor Mohammed tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.
The commissioner said 48 samples were taken for test and two had been confirmed positive for the disease and 37 others returned negative.

He, however, said the results of nine other persons are still being awaited from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
According to him, every individual who had contact with the governor had been placed on compulsory self-isolation in a bid to check the spread of the virus.
