BAUCHI RERUN: Dogara tells Int’l community those to hold responsible if there are killings

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has preempted plans to hijack today’s supplementary election in Bauchi State.

The Speaker has also written the international community including International Criminal Court (ICC), the European Union (EU), governments of the United States and the United Kingdom.

Dogara who expressed fears on the safety of residents in the state, pointed accusing fingers at the state governor, Abdullahi Abubakar; Bauchi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi; Commissioner of Police Bauchi State; Director, Department of State Services Bauchi State and all security personnel.

In a statement by his media aide, Turaki Hassan on Friday, the Speaker said, ‘’I write to draw the attention of the United States authorities to this murderous order given to the security agents in Bauchi state to kill innocent citizens. Should any person in the State lose his life tomorrow (today) in consequence of this fraud called supplementary elections, the responsibility must rest squarely onthe shoulders of the following individuals and institution; namely: Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi state whose desperation knows no bounds; Bauchi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi; Commissioner of Police Bauchi State; Director, Department of State Services Bauchi State and all security personnel who obey the illegal murderous order to kill innocent citizens.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the March 9 governorship election in the state inconclusive.
