Trouble brews in Taraba APC as faction denies list for appointment into Buhari's cabinet

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday rejected the judgment that sacked its governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, David Lyon.

A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa on Thursday morning disqualified Lyon from taking part in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

The court gave the judgment in a suit filed by Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, an aspirant in the APC governorship primary held on September 4.

The court did not only disqualify Lyon but also held that none of the aspirants in the primary should be fielded by the APC in the poll.

But at a press briefing later on Thursday, the APC said that it would appeal the judgment.

The aggrieved party said its lawyers were already working on the processes to first secure a stay of execution order on the court’s ruling.
