BAYELSA GUBER: PDP downplays last minute defections from the party

The Bayelsa Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has downplayed the effect of lastinute defections from the party, boasting that it would win the November 16 governorship election with or without the defectors.

The state Chairman of the party, Chief Moses Cleopas, said in a statement on Sunday, add that the Bayelsa people and followers of PDP were not with the defectors who, according to him, lack the requisite character, principle and integrity.

Accoeding to him, the defecting politicians were motivated by greed and the inordinate quest for political positions being dangled to them by the APC.

He further stated the the difference between the party leadership and the defecting politicians was the lack of capacity to resist the temptation of suspicious political offers and even threats.
