#BBNaija’s Ifu Ennada reveals struggle with depression, suicide thoughts

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Iheme Faith Uloma popularly known as Ifu Ennada has revealed her running battle with depression and the thought of committing suicide.

The BBNaija contestant who once said she was raped and infected with a Sexually Transmitted Infection citing an unnamed person in the entertainment industry as the rapist revealed her ordeal with depression in an interview with Vanguard.

She said; “The thing is, at some point, you have to tell yourself this is not the life you want, surround yourself with materials that help to liberate and lift your spirit, and then you cry to God. Most of the issues back then stemmed from the fact that I had a lot of dreams and the power to achieve them, but I was crippled financially. Those things made me depressed.

“I had a lot of low moments, struggles; went back to the village, a lot of people were dying… A lot of terrible things were happening to me and it seemed as if there was no light at the end of the tunnel. Also considering the fact that I’m someone who wants to earn what I get. I do not want to stick with a man’s money. I’m not judging anyone who does that, but I’m not that kind of person.

“There were opportunities I had that would have gotten me money, but I just knew that’s not the way I wanted to write my story. A lot of those things got me depressed, but I told myself no more pity-party, no more suicidal thoughts. I started seeing myself as whom I could be – someone whose story would inspire millions. Since I got out of the house I’ve done some giveaways. I’ve gotten sewing machines for some young fashion entrepreneurs, as well as equip them with money. There are others who have only heard my story and are motivated.”

Recall that the actress, content producer, TV host and fitness entrepreneur revealed recently that she has captured her rape ordeal in her latest short story film titled, `Tears of A Broken Virgin.’
