'Why I beat my 10-yr-old son to death'

A 37-year-old man who was arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for beating his 10-year-old son to death has revealed that he battered his son to death because he brought shame by stealing phones at a party and also stole cash belonging to his stepmother.

The suspect, Rasak Adekoya who is now being detained at the homicide department at the state police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, said he never intended to kill his son, Wariz Adekoya, but his actions angered him.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said the suspect who was arrested following a tip-off was always torturing his son according to his neighbours as preliminary investigation revealed several marks on the body of the victim was as a result of series of torture from the suspect.

“The corpse has been deposited at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital Mortuary, Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, for autopsy.” Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said.

Continuing, Oyeyemi added that; “As soon as investigation is concluded, the suspect will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.”

    End time fathers, killing their own children. God forbid. this man should spend the rest of his life in jail

      Jail is small punishment. Let him be killed too because he has committed murder.

    To me, it goes beyond ordinary. The man was put into a spell by the unseen forces. No matter what , the man wouldn’t have liked to kill his son. So let’s be reasonable with whatever judgement we are lashing out on the man.
