Published

on

Following the deadly attacks in Paris, Belgium’s national Crisis Center has raised its terrorism alert to its highest level in the Brussels region.

Belgium authorities through its Crisis Centre made an announcement on its website saying it had raised the threat level 4, indicating a “serious and immediate threat”.
The Belgian capital Brussels is the seat of the Belgian federal government and the headquarters of two major international institutions, the European Union and NATO; the Belgian capital was also home to the suspected organizer of the Nov. 13 Paris terror attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud.

Reports also say that a third suspect relating to last week’s Paris attacks has been filed with terror charges. Two other suspects are already behind bars facing similar charges.

“The person arrested yesterday have been charged by the investigating judge with participation in terrorist attacks and participation in the activities of a terrorist organization, and placed into custody.” A statement by the prosecutor’s office revealed late Friday.
