Bello Turji strikes again, raids Zamfara mosque, abducts worshippers

Notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, has reportedly resurfaced and raided a mosque in Birnin Yaro village of Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara State where he abducted an unspecified number of worshippers.
Counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama who shared the news on X on Tuesday, said in the daring attack which occured during Isha prayers, Turji led his armed men to invade the mosque, disrupting the congregation, and abducting worshippers.
“Turji and his armed men stormed the mosque, disrupting the congregation and abducting an unspecified number of worshippers,” he wrote.
“The victims were reportedly herded into the forest, but the exact number of those kidnapped remains unknown at the time of filing this report.
“Turji may be planning to use the people as a shield against an attack on his enclave by the Nigerian troops of Operation FANSAN YANMMA,” he added.
