Ben Bruce woes Shehu Sani, to leave APC for PDP

Senator Ben-Murray has described his colleague, Senator Shehu Sani, as an asset to Nigeria and a pride to the 8th Senate, admonishing him to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if his All Progressives Congress (APC) party no longer needs him.

Bruce, who represents Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, stated this in response to the development in Kaduna Central senatorial district, which Senator Sani represents at the Senate.

The APC in the six local governments that make up Senator Sani’s senatorial district had on Sunday endorsed a rival aspirant Uba Sani, who is a political adviser to Governor Nasir El-Rufai, as their anointed politician to pick the zone’s 2019 senatorial ticket.

According to Senator Sani, the development had the markings of ‘antics’ of no other person than Governor El-Rufai.

But responding to that, Bruce wrote on his twitter handle, “Senator @ShehuSani is an asset to Nigeria and a pride to the @NGRSenate. I have traveled all over Nigeria and very few Nigerians can match his intellect.

“If APC doesn’t want him, the @OfficialPDPNig wants him. Nigeria wants him. Democracy needs him. He’s a specimen of patriotism!”

Senator Sani has remained one of the fiercest critics of President Muhammadu Buhari and El-Rufai. Both are members of his APC party.
