BIAFRA: We’re investigating alleged IPOB members’ abuse –Nigerian Army

One month after issuing the highly provocative and contentious quit notice to Igbos to leave the North before the 1st of October, 2017, Arewa youths have called on the United Nations (UN) to designate the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist organization.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, the Arewa youths, who converged under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Groups, also called on the UN to intervene, by initiating processes for a peaceful referendum, saying that it is the only option to finally settle the Biafran issue.

In a letter addressed to the UN and dated 12th of July, 2017, the groups said since the end of the Nigerian Civil War, Igbos have intermittently continued to taunt and rebel against other parts of the country by demanding to secede and form an independent country.

They claimed that Igbos are reopening old wounds by calling for violence and anarchy. The groups said the popular Kaduna Declaration was not a call to violence, but a precaution.

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, its coordinator, Mr Shettima Yerima, said: “Not withstanding all the efforts by the Acting President and responsible regional leaders, Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB, remains undaunted and even intensified their violent divisive campaign which is the main issue of contention.

“Their continued action is a clear signal that they are committed to breaking away from the Nigerian federation which buttresses our earlier concerns.

“Worried by the recent threats, we became concerned that Kanu has finally crossed the boundaries of Nigerian laws and has blatantly breached international laws that specifically frown at the use of terror to achieve a goal.

“We are calling on the UN to invoke the relevant statuses to which Nigeria is a signatory to pronounce Kanu and IPOB as terror outfits, proscribe their activities and initiate criminal actions against them.

“Since it is becoming all the more obvious by the way IPOB and Kanu enjoy massive support from the Igbos back home that the issue of the drive for Biafra nation is still a boiling one, we urge the UN to intervene by initiating processes for a peaceful referendum as the only option to finally settle the Biafran issue.”

Arewa youths are it again. You see, Biafrans and Igbos are the ones who have suffered Hausa/ Fulani terrorism for over 50 years. Honest Nigerians know it. The world knows. Not even Britain your supporter and mentor can come with a clear conscience to say that IPOB os a terrorist organization. The UN is far more sophisticated organization, made up of cibilized nations where civilized deabate and discuss and honest llook at issues takes place. Their standard is not Nigerias standard. A standard of lies, corruption and shamelessness, informed by a culture and and ideology that preaches not the brotherhood of man but the subjugation of people and deny them even the right for equality. IPOB is not Boko Haran and can never be compared to Boko Haram. IPOB stated their objective from the begining of the strughle which is within the bound of reason and international law and convention. Amnesty international have physical and documentary evidence of the police and army terrorism inflicted agaainst Biafrans and Igbos. No one can beat that. Sometimes I begin to wonder why you guys have choosen the path of darkness in the 21st century and lise and hypocrisy instead of the oath of truth. What IPOB and other pro- Biafra groups possess if superior argument and ebidence of 57 years of misdeed against Biafrans and Igbos. Every one knows that what you are looking for is people and institutions that will eater into an unholy alliance with your zoo to lie against Biafra groups so as to obtain a pretext and a platform to attack Biafrans with the islamic army of Nitthern Nigeria. It will fail because truth is golden. Remember that your quit notice is already and ethnic cleansing motive and when it is carried out is another genocide. It is on record. You cannot take it back. Nigeria has no standard of what is right or wronh . it is a system deeply meared in dishoesty, lies and deceit. And even if Biafran leave the zoo as is bound to happen soon, among yourselves you cannot deal straight and honest. What a tragedy. What a calamity that has befallen you people.

What kind of contradictory letter is this? First you ask the UN to conduct a peaceful referendum for Biafrans to finally settle the Biafra issue, then you turned around to ask the same UN to designate IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu as a terrorist organization. This is the most unintelligible write up I’ve ever seen. This is most laughable and humurous. For your information, the UN is not a daft organization full of illiterates. They are highly learned and understand that Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB are fighting for justice, equity and fairness for Biafrans. They understand that Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB have not breached any known principle of the UN as it regards freedom fighting and the rights of the Indigenous People of Biafra. What I can conclude here is that I see frustration is killing you because you’re on the losing side. The earlier you brace reality, the better for you; otherwise I see some BP rising uncontrollably. God bless #Biafra.

What is wrong with these Arewa youths sef? Who appointed them as defenders of the Republic? All the things they accuse IPOB of are crimes against the nation, so why can’t they let the government deal with IPOB through legitimate channels? And what level of dishonesty would make any Northern group accuse Igbos of terrorism? I’m neither Igbo nor Hausa-Fulani, but I’m a Nigerian, and we know who the terrorists are in this country. I don’t blame them sef, is it not because our biased police failed to arrest them?? Mtchew!
