BIAFRA: IPOB dares govt to re-arrest Kanu for flouting bail conditions

IPOB thanks northern youths for prior notice to quit, asks Igbo to return home

One of the South East separatist groups, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that any attempt by the Federal government to re-arrest its Leader Nnamdi Kanu, for alleged violation of bail conditions would fuel the agitation for Biafra independence.

It said arresting Kanu again will by no means stop its agitation but will only help in the realisation of Biafra as a separate state from Nigeria.

There have been insinuations that the Federal Government is on the verge of re-arresting Kanu over violations of his bail conditions, which many had termed impossible conditions, handed to him by a Federal High Court judge, Justice Binta Nyako.

Among the conditions include not being seen with more than 10 persons, and not granting interviews to the media among several others.

But IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, responding to the purported plot to re-arrest Kanu in a statement said the Federal Government will only be making a huge mistake by doing any such thing as it will only fuel the agitation for Biafra the more.

The statement read in part, “We are aware that those who were using unknown names and groups to call for Kanu’s re-arrest are those who were jittery over his rising popularity and that of IPOB in the world today.

“The success of May 30, 2017 sit-at-home and Biafra 50th anniversary was a clear indication that these individuals calling for re-arrest of Kanu were inconsequential in the society and were envious of Kanu’s popularity. The history of the event this year will not be erased and it must be an annual event year in, year out.

“Arresting Mazi Nnamdi Kanu again cannot stop the agitation. Rather, it will be a very big mistake on the side of the Federal Government and her security operatives because when the security operatives arrested him on his arrival from London in his hotel room in Lagos, it sparked protests and rallies across the world and drew the attention of the world leaders and other relevant world organisations closer to the quest for Biafra independence.

“We don’t give a damn, whether they arrest him or not. We don’t bother. Keeping Nnamdi Kanu in or out of Nigeria prison matters nothing to us because the restoration effort continues unabated. Having Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in prison is good for the struggle to restore Biafra.

”Nnamdi Kanu alive is peaceful disintegration, he dies in prison or any other means then Nigeria will witness a level of seismic destruction unknown to mankind that even Britain cannot stop.

“We say Nigeria Government should try and win its case in an open court, not using threats and intimidation because Mazi Nnamdi Kanu doesn’t respond well to such. Those enemies are out of game because they cannot stop the restoration project which was divinely ordained by the God Almighty (Chukwu Okike Abiama).

“The international observers and foreign journalists who were on ground to monitor the event of Sit at home on 30th of May 2017 can testify how all Biafrans both home and abroad respectfully honour and remember their fallen heroes and heroines that died during the genocidal war of 1967 and 1970.”

It is now obvious that Kanu’s bail on medical grounds was to set him free. A prisoner who was granted bail based on health isuess is supposed to return to prison once the medicals are over. This is however not the case with Kanu anymore

I expected this when the so called messiah was granted bail. Since his bail, the fight for Biafra has grown more wings with powerful protests in place. The federal government of Nigeria is weak and cannot handle these people who are ready to break out of Nigeria

Can any one of you tell me what makes him a Nigerian! When he or she actually signed a document to be called a Nigerian! Even our forefathers where they signed to be called Nigerians! Can any of you answer this simple question? Why can’t Nigeria produce a President in the age bracket of (29- 45)! How many South South business men owns an oil well in the South South where oil is located! Why is PH and port not in operation! Why are we not mining the solid minerals that abounds in the North! Who made Sokoto Nigerian spiritual HQ! can you all wake up from your slumbers and go back to the History lane and know better.
