‘Blade runner’ Pistorius bags 6-yr jail term
South African athlete and self proclaimed ‘Blade runner’ Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to a 6-year jail term by a South African judge for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Reports say the double amputee showed no emotion as the sentence was read out in court following the killing of his girlfriend on Valentine Day, in the year 2013.

The six year sentence is less than the prescribed minimum punishment, but the Judge cited mitigating circumstances considering the disability that the convict suffers.
