Former CAF and FIFA executive committee member, Amos Adamu, says embattled former FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, has been demystified, following the latter’s suspension from all football activities.

Adamu, who himself was suspended from all football activities for three years in 2010, says he pitied the 79-year old Blatter, who he never thought could ever be suspended from world football.

“He is on suspension now and he has been demystified,” said Adamu. “Nobody believed he (Blatter) could ever be suspended but he has gone on suspension now.

“I pity him because he has done so much for football, but he didn’t know when to leave. For him not to have been at the (U17) World Cup to lift it, I am sure that in itself is a punishment for him.

“But that is the rule. He made the rules and he was following it religiously. I remember telling him during my days that he should investigate these things (FIFA World Cup hosting rights) because it could backfire in the future and now it has come to pass.

“So he should take it the way it is now and if they (ethics committee) wants to ban him for life, they can do it,” Adamu stated.
