EFCC boss Magu vows to eradicate corruption in 12 months

A blogger, Abubakar Sidiqu Usman, also known as Abusidigu, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for allegedly stalking its Chairman,  Ibrahim Magu.

According to friends of the blogger, Abisidugu was arrested by EFCC operatives early Monday morning.

His arrest was also confirmed by the EFCC spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, adding that the blogger was arrested for cyber stalking.

In a statement issued by Uwujaren, the anti-graft agent said: “The EFCC today arrested Mr. Abubakar Sidiq Usman, a blogger, for offences bordering on cyber stalking.

“The suspect who is the publisher of Abusidiqu.com was picked up at his Kubwa, Abuja home in the early hours of Monday August 8, 2016 by operatives of the EFCC and is currently being questioned over the alleged offence which contravenes sections of the Cyber Crime Act.

“The suspect has already been offered administrative bail and would be released to his elected sureties.”

Usman’s blog, Abusidiqu.com, had published a report titled, ‘EFCC boss, Magu, commences total war with core EFCC staff’ on August 2, 2016.

According to the blog’s report, members of staff at the EFCC were complaining that they were being bullied by Magu.

It also accused Magu of corruption, and of being jittery about the delay in his confirmation by the Senate.
