BOKO HARAM ESCAPEES: 4 arrested in Lagos, one in Okene

The Department of State Security (DSS) has arrested four escaping members of the Boko Haram terrorist group in Lagos.

A commander of the terrorists group was also reportedly picked up in Okene, Kogi State.

This was contained in a statement issued by the DSS and signed by Tony Opuiyo, disclosing that members of the  terrorists group fled from their hideouts in the North East owing to the continued military operations to flush them out.

The  four terrorists arrested in Lagos, the DSS said, are Fanayi Bukar Hassan, Butame Hassan, Kologoni Bukar, and Amina Abubakar, while Abdullahi Mohammed aka Huja, a commander of the sect, was arrested in Okene.

The Nigerian Army had after it drove the sect out of its major base in Sambisa Forest in December 2016, cautioned the public to be vigilant as remnants of the Boko Haram terrorist group were fleeing to different parts of the country.

In a statement by the acting Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. -Gen. Sani Usman, the Army advised Nigerians to be “extra vigilant, security conscious of strange movements or persons in the society,” adding that the public should report any suspicious person or group of persons to the security agencies for prompt action.
