Boko Haram insurgents burn village near Chibok

Violent Islamist sect, Boko Haram, Wednesday attacked Goptari, a village on the precint of Chibok, Borno State.
Chibok is the Northeastern town where more than 200 school girls were kidnapped in April 2014.
According to local sources, a group of Boko Haram gunmen invaded Goptari, a distance of 10 kilometres from Chibok, setting it on fire after looting food supplies and livestock.
Another local, Luka Damina, said the attackers engaged in a fierce gun battle with soldier.
“The Boko Haram fighters overpowered the soldiers and seized a van with a machine gun mounted on the deck from the soldiers,” he said.
