Boko Haram split good for army operations --Gen Adeosun

The Commander of the Lake Chad Basin Multi-National Task Force (MNJTF) Major General Lamidi Adeosun has revealed that the split in the camp of Boko Haram which has witnessed the emergence of a new faction of the terrorist group led by Al Barnawi is in a way helping the operations of the Nigerian army.

General Adeosun revealed that much during a Telephonic Press Briefing when fielding questions from journalists alongside Marine Corps General Thomas D. Waldhauser, Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and Lieutenant General Osman Noor Soubagleh, Commander of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

He said; “It is not just to say he will challenge. He has been challenging the military within the region. We are all aware of when it broke out from the mainstream Shekau faction and how it was a group was also recognized by some elements of ISIS.

“Yes. The split is assisting the operation in a way and that the linkage between his group and Shekau has been severed and he is also isolated, which is good and cornered where operation is going on currently,” Gen. Adeosun added.

Adeosun who is currently in Stuttgart, Germany where forty-nine African military leaders are being hosted to strengthen AFRICOM’s relationships with the continent and provide a strategic forum to discuss key security concerns also corrected the impression that the MNJTF only supports Nigerian Troops.

“The Multinational Joint Task Force is not only supporting the Nigerian Troops. The Multinational Joint Task Force is set up by Nigeria and three other countries, supported by Benin Republic; we’ve got to get this clear.

“And just like all the member countries, Nigeria has its own troops in Multinational Joint Task Force. So what we do, we plan our operations together and the entire member countries are carried along in what we do,” he stated.

The Multinational Joint Task Force is a good collaboration that will strengthen security in member countries. This is a wise way of wiping out Boko Haram

As long as there’s still Boko Haram in Nigeria, the Nigeria Army is still loosing, victory comes only when there’s no single boko haram member in Nigeria

No African country is capable of defeating Boko Haram, more support is needed, other countries will have to team up enmass with Nigeria to fight Boko Haram, else, the islamic sect will not leave

See how stupid you are. How can you say no African country is capable of defeating Boko Haram? Ecomog is enough to finish Boko Haram. It’s not until we invite Super powers that we can defeat them. Africa is strong enough as a team and start believing in Africa.

Boko Haram is depressing and suppressing day by day. The military should just be resilient and relentless as the fight will soon be over and also they need to galvanise support from countries like France, Russia and US to be able to accelerate the defeat of this deadly monsters.
